Does anyone read the fanfic The List? http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4934524/1/The_List I was reading the current chapter and the author brings up a good point. When Bella is in the midst of her transformation, she is quiet and still. This is because of the morphine she was given. Edward and Carlisle believe that this means that she is not suffering, so they think that their plan was a success. In truth, the morphine had a strange effect on Bella, basically paralyzing her. She felt the pain just as much, however was unable to move or scream.
So here's the thing...Jasper would have known that Bella was suffering. So in The List, Jasper tells Edward and Carlisle that the morphine isn't working and he stays with Bella to make her feel better, even though it is very painful for him. I just thought it was pretty funny that I never once thought of this. I mean, I have re-read this series at least...well, crap, I have no idea how many times I have re-read it in the past year. It was basically continual for the first 6 months. For some reason, I seem to always underestimate Jasper's power. (I had never thought of his ability to "pleasure" somebody remotely, either. *winkwink*)

Great catch. How did we over look that detail? It makes very good sense as well. As for Jasper's abilities, especially his remote abilities, just imagine the damage that Alice and he can do together
